A warm welcome to Benthal Primary school.
It is my pleasure to officially introduce myself as the Headteacher of Benthal Primary. I look forward to working with all parents and carers as you are vital to the work we do at the school. It is important that we build a firm partnership between home and school in order to ensure that our children achieve the very best that they can.
In our work at Benthal, we want to ensure children at school are “Learners, Achievers and Friends.” We aim to provide rich experiences and opportunities through a broad and varied curriculum which allows every child to enjoy their own success.
Through the premise of our curriculum, we will not only focus on the academic achievement of pupils but strive to develop the whole child by offering a range of sporting, creative arts and residential activities. All Benthal children can take part in swimming, football, athletics, tennis and borough cross country. In addition, residential visits offer our older pupils the opportunity to widen their horizons by experiencing rock climbing, archery, giant swing and quad biking. We also provide a wide range of musical experiences, and as well as singing we offer: African drumming, steel pans, clarinet, flute and violin. There are numerous after school activities for children.
We hope to ensure that our children aspire to become part of a wider community, developing cohesion and making links both locally and globally. Through such links we aim to ensure our pupils are knowledgeable, thoughtful and sensitive towards others regardless of religious or cultural differences. This will prepare them for the future and enable them to live harmoniously in a multicultural society.
Whatever your child’s ability at Benthal, you can be assured we aim to meet their needs and give support to all children. We will not be complacent about the future and are committed to raising standards to provide an effective, inspiring education for all our pupils.
